goodday.isThe Good Index
Vol. 01 · Methodology

A quiet ledger of
the good that actually happened.

The Good Index counters the negativity bias of the modern news cycle. Not naive optimism — a rigorous, transparent measurement of what humans and nature accomplish every day.

The pipeline

Six steps · story → digest
  1. 01
    Collect

Positive-signal stories aggregated from trusted public news, NGOs, and scientific publications.

  2. 02
    Classify

AI models tag each story by category, region, and impact vector — low-confidence and duplicates discarded.

  3. 03
    Filter

Sensationalism, negativity, and unreliable outlets removed. Only genuinely constructive stories move on.

  4. 04
    Score

Each story receives an Impact Score (1–100) based on reach, evidence, and long-term significance.

  5. 05
    Verify

High-impact stories are queued for optional human verification before entering the daily digest.

  6. 06
    Publish

The Planet Mood, digest, and live feed update every 60 seconds.

Index of sources

Where the stories
come from.

Every headline is fetched live from a publisher's RSS feed. We show the title, a short excerpt, and link straight back — credit and traffic stay with the reporters.

§ Live status

Sources health.

Aggregation runs hourly. Last successful fetch and item count per source. If a feed fails, it's skipped without breaking the run.

    § Verification

    A note on trust.

Stories flagged AI have been classified by our models but not yet reviewed. Stories flagged Verified have passed both automated and human checks. Both are shown so you see the full flow of good things happening — with confidence signals attached.
